At AE2S, GIS plays a pivotal role in many of our projects, from mapping water systems to improving decision-making for communities. Last month the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) announced a final rule requiring drinking water systems to identify and replace lead pipes nationwide. Alongside the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), new funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help communities ensure safer, lead-free water. Learn more in our latest article.

Last week the City of Woodbury, Minnesota broke ground on the largest infrastructure project in city history - a 32 MGD water treatment plant and over 17 miles of pipeline. Once complete, the water treatment plant will be one of the largest PFAS treatment plants in the county! AE2S has enjoyed working closely with the City on this momentous project and we’re excited to continue to support the City on this project over the next several years.

?? Exciting news! The City of Robbinsdale, MN has received the prestigious APWA Public Works Project of the Year Award for their Centralized Lime Softening Water Treatment Plant! ?? This award celebrates excellence in the management, administration, and implementation of public works projects, recognizing the strong partnership between the City, AE2S, and contractors. This project showcases exceptional planning and dedication to community well-being, environmental impact, and long-term infrastructure sustainability. The new plant consolidates water operations, improves water quality, and reduces the need for home softeners—a huge win for residents and the environment alike. Well done, Robbinsdale, on leading the way for small cities in sustainable water management! Congratulations to Robbinsdale on this well-deserved national recognition! ??

With most service line inventories now completed and submitted, water systems are required to send notification letters by November 15th to customers with unknown service line materials or those with lead or galvanized steel service lines that need replacement.
