Voter Dissuasion Works! Using Political Explorer, we ran a quick case study of the effect of driving up an opponent’s negatives.? In GA 2022 Governor and Senate race we had a perfect laboratory – Popular Governor Kemp won with a decent margin but Hershel Walker with his high negatives lost his Senate race. But here’s where it gets interesting.?Winning candidate Raphael Warnock only got 7,000 more votes than losing candidate Stacy Abrams.?But Walker got 390K few votes than Kemp.?So, because of the negatives, almost 400K Georgians voted for governor but on the same ballot, left Senator blank. Conclusion: Driving up Negatives won’t get you votes, but it can make people not vote for your opponent! By electing Kamala Harris, the country can finally end the tyranny of 1946! We don't live in a Gerontocracy or even a Baby-Boom-ocracy, since 1992 we have been ruled by 1946 babies -- the first year of the Baby Boom. In every election since then (except 2008) one or both party nominees were born or gestating in 1946. 1992, 1996 -- Bill Clinton, born 1946 2000, 2004 -- GW Bush, born 1946 2008 -- the only exception 2012 -- Mitt Romney, gestating 1946, born February 1947 2016 -- Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, both born in 1946 2020, 2022 -- Donald Trump, born 1946 Here's a map from Political Explorer showing where people born in 1946 are clustered:

Some very sad news about my colleague and great friend Chris Mayka.?He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.?? Me, my family, the Advocacy Data and Political Explorer families and everyone who knew him are so incredibly saddened. He was a great guy and wonderful friend to all of us.? He was also a great coworker and compadre for almost a decade. He believed that if you had sold copiers you could sell data or anything else.?And he was right. He helped come up with Political Explorer as well.? Anyone who knew him knows how funny he could be. Countless times I’d see something hilarious on Facebook and I would think I had to share it with Chris. Then I’d see that of course it was his post.? I already miss him incredibly. The family is planning a service and I can share details of that with anyone interested if you let me know. I will also make sure there is a virtual meeting of all his friends and the people who loved him from all the different parts of his life to share their favorite stories and memories. Chris would like that.
