Advice's first Thanksgiving potluck was a delicious success! We will definitely be making this an annual tradition. It was great to take a moment out of this busy season to enjoy a meal with the wonderful team we are so thankful for. Among the dishes were hummus, Za'atar pita chip, savory Thanksgiving pie, garlic mashed potatoes, salt and pepper noodle kugel, mac and cheese, eggplant rollatini, panko crusted asparagus, chocolate chip banana bread, apple pie cookies, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Happy Thanksgiving! #thanksgiving #happythanksgiving #potluck

Using too many recruiters to fill a role can do more harm than good. Keep your searches to two recruiters at the most. If neither of them have any success, it might be time to make some changes! The results are in! It may not come as a shock that over 75% of respondents would expect a company to add at least something to their offer to keep things competitive. The good news is that a majority of those individuals are simply looking for a fair compromise rather than a dollar-for-dollar match. When a top candidate has another offer on the table, the first thing to understand is whether your company is their preferred choice. If so, be prepared to at least cover 25% of the difference between the two offers in order to show a little give and take. It will make them feel better about the money they’re leaving on the table and will make you that much more confident in their conviction around the role. #hiring #newhire #hiringneeds #jobsearch #newjob #careerchange #bonus #yearendbonus #poll

The results are in! The survey reveals a fairly even split regarding when employees would start considering new job opportunities if their annual bonus were paid on December 31st. That said, it’s important for hiring managers to recognize that over 70% of respondents would at least start exploring other options BEFORE that bonus is paid out. If you’re planning on hiring in the next few months, don’t assume that you need to wait until after bonus season to start attracting good candidates. By starting your recruiting process in November/December, you may actually have an early advantage over the competition. This is especially true around the holidays when candidates likely have a bit more time off to interview. It’s impossible to perfectly time the hiring market. Start your process early and give yourself the best opportunity to find the right person. #hiring #newhire #hiringneeds #jobsearch #newjob #careerchange #bonus #yearendbonus #poll

The results are in! Half of the respondents (50%) start feeling frustrated when a critical position remains unfilled for 2-3 months, while 39% feel this frustration even sooner—at the one-month mark. The substantial share of respondents who feel frustration after just 2-3 months (almost 90%) illustrates how quickly an unfilled position can disrupt team dynamics or increase workloads, potentially impacting morale and productivity. In order to mitigate the aforementioned downstream effects, HR and Hiring Managers should maintain clear communication with the impacted team on search status and projected hiring timeline. Set those status meetings on a monthly basis in order to ensure that those individuals recognize the seriousness with which you’re approaching the search and the value you place in each of them for stepping up in the meantime. Although you can’t always control the amount of time it takes to hire the right person, you can influence the sentiment surrounding the hiring timeline. In many cases, that can be just as important. #hiring #newhire #hiringneeds #interview #interviewing #poll
