I've been experimenting with WhiteRabbitNeo since taking on CTFs at #defcon32 and it's been a really interesting model so far. It's been great for code completion tasks, but exceptionally great as a red teaming assistant. The evolution of WhiteRabbitNeo will go beyond an assistant to a full team member with the new version 2 running on Llama 3.1! Cyber Threat Intelligence | Risk Communication and Context | Will Adopt Orphan Chocolates and Caterpillars!
The DEF CON 32 panel "Responding to Breaches, Ransomware, and State-Sponsored Threat Actors" is finally up on YouTube! ?? Held by the Adversary Village, moderated by Abhijith, and joined by fellow panelists ken kato, Nikhil Mittal, and Adam Pennington, we talked about in-the-wild observed attacks from advanced nation-state threat actors and #APTs. They attack a wide variety of organizations -- from SMBs to governments, non-profits to Fortune 500s -- with ferocious intensity, and "basic" cyber hygiene can stop many of these tactics. However, those "basic" controls can be incredibly difficult for many blue-teamers to implement against unintentional roadblocks -- so what can the modern infosec professional do to stop an adversary that's determined to get in? My favorite question was the individual who asked which was the greater threat -- script kiddies or APTs? ?? Great question, and great responses from everyone! Thank you so much again for having me, ABX! It was truly a pleasure. PS: Special thanks to Lillian Ash Baker for finding the link and letting me know! https://lnkd.in/eDcsP8wK

It was my honor to moderate a panel discussion at the DEF CON Hacker Convention Creator stage as part of Adversary Village this year, with; A. Stryker, Head of security communications and planning at Blackpoint Cyber Adam Pennington, Lead at MITRE ATT&CK Nikhil Mittal, Founder and Director at Altered Security ken kato, VP at Omni Federal, KindoAI Advisor and White House Fellow. The discussion was on the topic “Formidable Adversaries: Responding to Breaches, Ransomware, and State-Sponsored Threat Actors”. We are living in a phase where even the most secure organizations are not immune to targeted cyber attacks and motivated adversaries. The panel shared their experience on rising wave of state sponsored threat-actors and sophisticated attack vectors, how the lack of security hygiene led to compromises and recent breaches. The panel also shared their take on how the most secure organizations are getting breached, and what could be the possible reasons.? More importantly how to respond effectively to breaches/ransomware incidents/targeted attacks, contain and remediate them. #AdversaryVillage #DEFCON #DEFCON32 #LasVegas
