AdventHealth Gordon EMS won several awards at the recent annual Region 1 EMS banquet held in Dalton, Georgia.
“I am proud of the AdventHealth Gordon EMS team and the work they do throughout Gordon County, said Isaac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Georgia. “They serve on the front lines and often meet people in their most vulnerable time of need. Their service to our community is invaluable.”
Justin Hazlewood and Justin Evans from AdventHealth Gordon were awarded the Medical Call of the Year. For this award, judges gauge crew performance on the call, the acuity and severity of the call, the patient outcome, special circumstances related to the call, scene and transport time, appropriateness of transport destination, and more.
Chip Seagle from AdventHealth Gordon EMS won the Paramedic of the Year. Besides fulfilling his regular job duties, Seagle is involved in the community by providing well person checks at the Senior Center, working with the annual EMS toy drive, doing show and tell events at local elementary schools, he’s an EMS bike team leader, he does career fairs for local high schools, and he coordinates events with the mascot, Mac the Medic.
The AdventHealth Gordon EMS team was awarded the Region 1 EMS Service of the Year based on their performance throughout the year. The criterion for this award is how involved the service is in their community, performance on annual inspections, interactions with local public safety, number of complaints, and more.
“It is an honor for our team to be recognized for our service,” said Mark Bramblett, director of AdventHealth Gordon EMS. “But it’s an even bigger honor for us to be able to care for our community. These are our friends, neighbors and family. Our work is personal, and we are committed to providing the best possible care for Gordon County.”
Courtney Taylor, Gordon County's director of emergency management, led the team and their families in prayer following the event.
