With National Eye Health Week upon us, we wanted to share three tips to promote eye health: ?? Eat Healthily - Certain foods can promote eye health. For example, you can protect against eye diseases by incorporating non-meat protein sources such as eggs and nuts; green/leafy vegetables; tuna, salmon, and other fatty fish; and oranges and other citrus fruits into your diet. ??? Wear Sunglasses (Even on Cloudy Days) - Opt for sunglasses that block out 99% to 100% of ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays. ?? Know Your Family History - A number of eye conditions have a genetic component, including glaucoma and macular degeneration. If you have older family members, talk with them about any eye conditions they or other members of your family have had.
