Effective Communication is built upon many elements, some more obvious than others. These include: understanding what success is, knowing the audience and tailoring the message so the receiver actually receives the message - failure to transmit the message from sender to receiver means communication hasn't actually taken place. What's more, when a critical conversation is taking place, or when you're seeking approval for a project, a back and forth is expected...BUT! Careful to start negotiating against yourself when a question is asked of you; stand your position until you're negotiated against. A question can serve to understand more of you, the project, the context or, just the receiver needing more data to make an informed decision. If you're seeking to get them to do something, ask them when they feel the warmth of your presence and the power of your words. "It's lonely at the top..." You've heard this expression, maybe even felt it. The expression originated as a metaphor for mountain climbing. Indeed, if you are an Upper-Level Manager or C-Level Executive, you likely navigate rocky steps every day while trying hard not to fall or break anything. And sometimes, the view at the top is not quite as beautiful as you imagined. However, it's up to you to set the vision, provide direction, and be a role model and the face of the organization. It's tough to do it alone. Our Executive Coach will be an experienced and knowledgeable confidant to help you see things clearly, reach your desired peak, and not burn out in the process. We can assist in strategies for interactions with all in your sphere of influence, tackling today's challenges, and preparing your organization for what lies ahead. And, we can help you develop a personal strategic plan for your career that will synergistically integrate with your whole life. Challenging Relationships: Remember that when you’re warring with people on your own team, everyone loses. This doesn’t suggest that you can’t disagree with someone, in fact, it can be healthy and helpful in developing leaders around you, but should be done with the intention of resolving the issue, not challenging others to spar.
