Helping SACOG reimagine first and last mile connections through mobility hubs. ? Steer is delighted to be working for the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) in Northern California to help develop their first Regional Mobility Hub Framework and Design Guidance. This visionary project encompasses 28 member cities, covering urban, rural and suburban land uses and marking a pivotal moment in transportation innovation and community revitalization. ? Built around frequent and high-capacity transit, mobility hubs aim to offer a safe, convenient, and accessible space to seamlessly transfer between different transportation options. At its core, the project aims to scale and design the hubs to meet local community needs, with a focus on underserved communities and Environmental Justice Areas.?This exciting project will also aim at looking for solutions to bridge the gap between urban centres, suburban enclaves, and often-overlooked rural and agricultural communities, fostering connectivity, inclusiveness, and collaboration. Wow! What an incredible initiative. #FreetownTheTreetown initiative, showcases Freetown's extensive tree-planting project that leverages technology to monitor tree growth and engage the community. Reforestation efforts in and around Freetown have led to the planting of nearly a million trees - trees originally lost to development and agriculture. The plan is to plant 7 million trees by 2030! Technology plays a crucial role by providing a digital platform for tracking the growth and survival of newly planted trees. Community engagement is enhanced through financial incentives, encouraging residents to participate in the tree-planting initiative. It would be great if more cities considered how similar community-driven, technology-enabled environmental projects could be implemented to promote sustainability and climate resilience.

I am excited to be attending a discussion tonight at the NYIT De Seversky Mansion, focusing on technology and economic development initiatives on Long Island.
