Reflecting on our journey since the transformative I-Corps program, it's incredible to see how far we've come! A fun fact: We first met Hannah (??) Mormer during an I-Corps interview, and today she’s leading our Regulatory, Quality, and Project Management efforts. ?? ?? BIG NEWS ?? ?? We're thrilled to announce that we've received a $650,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) Convergence Accelerator Phase-I grant! This funding will support our efforts to transform medical instruments using a bio-inspired approach to incorporate advanced sensing capabilities. Our sensors enable flexible surgical devices to detect shape and force changes in real-time, giving surgeons more awareness and control during complex surgeries. While our initial focus is on enhancing cochlear implant procedures, we want to expand these capabilities to cover a wide range of minimally invasive surgical instruments. A huge shoutout to Carnegie Mellon University for partnering with us on this grant, and our? dedicated surgeon advisors contributing to this pioneering effort.
