“Some have lost sight of what it means to live and work together. I am hopeful this siting reform might provide the critical first step back to fiscal responsibility and factual debate for our community,” writes Patti Shinn, a longtime township treasurer. “At the end of the day, it is on all of us as Michiganders to decide what sort of governance we want.”? https://lnkd.in/eNnzTj2x

Today, United's Kathleen Mettle testified at a joint hearing of the Maryland House Economic Matters Committee and Senate Education, Energy, and the Environment Committee, advocating for a clean energy future. Her testimony emphasized that renewable energy paired with battery storage is not "intermittent" or "unreliable" – it’s dispatchable, capable of meeting peak demand and providing reliability at a competitive price. Investing in battery storage and smart grid technologies will help deliver a more flexible, affordable, and reliable energy system. Watch her full remarks on how #cleanenergy and #batterystorage can meet Maryland’s energy needs: ?

United was proud to be a Premier Sponsor of this year’s American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.! United’s Jeremy McDiarmid engaged with industry experts on the forum stage during the “Getting to Yes: Next Steps for Federal #Transmission Permitting Reform” panel, which was moderated by Sarah Webster of United Leader member Pattern Energy. The dynamic discussion examined policies and best practices to streamline permitting, reduce delays, and address regulatory challenges that will help accelerate the energy transition. Thank you to the ACORE team and everyone involved for hosting an event that truly tackled the most urgent policy issues facing the #CleanEnergy industry today.?

Advanced Energy United’s Samarth M. talked with Jeffrey Tomich from E&E News about a recently filed Illinois bill, HB3758/SB2479. This legislation from Senator Bill Cunningham, Representative Marcus C. Evans, Jr. and Representative Barbara Hernandez, MPA would build on the nation-leading Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA). The bill would enable Illinois to develop enough energy storage to?attract new industries, suppress rising costs and?remain a national leader on energy policy. “As more and more of these devices show up, the more we can harness their flexibility,” Samarth explained about other provisions in the bill, which would allow for more rooftop solar, batteries and smart thermostats, all of which can allow for virtual power plants.?
