Bath County, Virginia, is an incredible destination that offers a mix of beautiful nature, interesting history, and outstanding hospitality. Our Regional Manager, Will Crockett, TMP, was recently able to enjoy multiple nights in the Allegheny Mountains, attending the VA1 Governor's Tourism Summit alongside our Virginia representative, Rebecca Hudson Meyers, MBA at The Omni Homestead Resort. While exploring Bath County, Will was in awe of the incredible scenery and also enjoyed getting off the resort to discover more of the towns of Hot Springs and Warm Springs. A few highlights of the trip were getting a local craft beer at Bacova Beer Company, getting to know the owner of The Inn at Warm Springs and having a delicious meal at their Tavern, and taking advantage of the Homestead's incredible spa. Will encourages everyone to Visit Bath County VA, Virginia, and extends a heartfelt thank you to those who made it an amazing experience. #TravelTuesday #visitbath #discovermore #bathcounty #hospitality

During a recent hurricane evacuation, Adrianne Glass, TMP and her family explored one of our clients, Coastal Mississippi. It was a wonderful place to take the family to explore all types of activities. One thing Adrianne had to do was visit The Mississippi Aquarium to experience all the interactive exhibits. She also never forgets to get a food item as a souvenir. On this trip, she got pickles and pepper jelly from Lady May in Ocean Springs, MS. #TravelTuesday

Did you know that in 1956, the phrase “Elvis has left the building,” originated at KWKH’s Louisiana Hayride show in Shreveport, Louisiana? Mobs of teenage girls were said to have been in pandemonium over Elvis Presley to the point that most attendees just assumed he was singing because you couldn’t hear him over the squeals and shouts of the crowd. Announcer, Horace Logan, used the phrase to let the crowd know Elvis was gone and to encourage them to stay seated for the next performance. After that night, it was used to let fans know it was time to leave the venue. While this particular Hayride Show was held at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds to accommodate the large crowd, many before this were held at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, pictured below. Much of the auditorium is still intact to this day, and visitors can walk where stars, like Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Aretha Franklin walked and stand on the very stage where they performed. ? What an incredible experience at the 2024 AL-MS-TN Rural Tourism Conference! I had the pleasure of connecting with friends and colleagues, building relationships, and celebrating the amazing work being done in rural communities across the region. ?? A huge thank you to Discovery Park of America and the Obion County Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a memorable event! From insightful sessions during the day, to a winery tour at White Squirrel Winery ?? and evenings filled with fun, food, live music ?? from several of Tennessee’s hottest talent, and even some bowling ??—every moment was perfect! We were honored to have Governor Bill Lee join us, making it a truly special event. ?? Proud to see the strength and partnership of our rural communities, working together to drive tourism forward. ???? #RuralTourism #almstnruraltourism #Tourism #TNSoundsPerfect
