It's been a tough couple of weeks for many ADT employees and customers in the southeast and Florida dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. A great interview with ADT Chief Technology Officer Gilles Drieu on the AppleInsider podcast with Andrew O'Hara talking about the future of the smart home. ???? Some highlights: ? Matter 1.2 will expand the ecosystem of smart devices (fridges, dishwashers, air quality sensors, etc.) As the smart home expands, greater platform compatibility will quickly follow. ? AI is being built into every device, whether it's Apple Intelligence, AI Powered glass control, cameras that identify not just people but objects like vehicles, and even HVAC systems. ? ADT is committed to interoperability. The future of smart home ecosystems requires interoperability between various device protocols like Z-Wave and Matter. Consumers should be able to use all their smart devices within a unified security and automation system without worrying about compatibility issues. ? Trusted Neighbor is a great example of this interoperability in action.
