We are excited to recognize Jessica, Pediatric LPN in Brentwood, TN! Jessica has been part of the Adoration team for one and a half years. Her favorite part of her job is getting to work with the cutest patients around and truly feeling needed. She says it's the most fulfilling job, and she absolutely loves it! To her, Private Duty is special because it allows her to truly get to know her patients and their families. She's fallen in love with pediatrics because of her job. Jessica's advice to anyone considering a career in Private Duty is to truly put your heart into your nursing care. She says, "You'll never work a day if you truly love what you do." In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, baking, cooking, and gardening. Most of all, she loves spending time with her three beautiful children and her husband. We are proud to recognize Yvonne, Home Health Clinical Manager in Baltimore, MD! Yvonne has been part of the team for eight months. Her favorite part of her job is developing skills to help patients and clinicians maneuver around roadblocks to improve the health and independence of the patient – whether it’s ordering supplies, calling doctors, ensuring ordered labs are done, or whatever it takes to get the patient to a more independent path for healthcare success. To her, home health is special because of the freedom the care team has to take their time to really connect with a patient. She says, “Often in the hospital setting, a healthcare worker has very limited time to build a rapport with his/her patient but with home health, it is easily done where you can bring the patient’s support team in on the patient’s care for better health outcomes for the patient. Building a strong foundation will reduce hospital readmissions, give the patient the tools for a healthier lifestyle, and bridge the gap for better communication with their healthcare providers. Home health care is a vital component of the patient’s overall medical building blocks.” For anyone considering a career in home health, she says, “Not only will you have more autonomy and flexibility to be more present with patients, but the relationships that are built with patients can be very rewarding. Just having the time to sit with a patient for 30-60 minutes can help improve a patient’s health outcomes. Having someone to listen to and make a plan to address healthcare concerns is something not felt in other specialties.” When she’s not working, you can find Yvonne making bracelets, writing her book, or cooking. She is trying to remember all the recipes her grandmother used to make so she can make them for herself and her family.
