As part of our profiles recognizing our great team members, we’ve selected Project / Field Engineer Efren Oliab Trevino T to tell you a few things about AP and his work here. 1?? What do you like about your role at AP? This role allows us to pursue many paths, we can go for the field area, PM area, Precon, 3D design and many others that I honestly don't know. I like that I work closely with the Supers and with the trades. In this role I am able to get more involved in the project - sometimes we can learn more about the project in the field than at the computer. 2?? Who is someone that you admire and why? First, my mom, she is always looking out for me, working hard to give me a good life, facing sickness, hard times in Mexico but always a strong woman. She was strict when I needed, but a very kind and sweet mama. Then, my Dad, He was an amazing guy, and admirable human being. He did everything for everyone no matter who he/she was. He was kind, responsible, humble, honest and a really hard-working man. He was always smiling and helping others, facing rough days with a smile. He helped a lot of people and never expected something in return. 3?? Favorite AP project. My first project with AP is the EMRF School of Mines project. I think it is an amazing project. We have encountered some challenges, like a lot of underground water, tons and tons of rebar, and tons and tons of concrete. Thanks to the crew that we have here all those challenges were surpassed. The team that we have here is a great - from the Sr. Superintendent to the laborers and the many trades that are working with us! Thanks, Oli, for all of the great work you do! We had a wonderful opportunity to work with EUA Architects, Eidos Architects and contractor Adolfson Peterson on the recently completed Montbello High School located on the East side of Denver. The school was originally built in 1980. "The school was redesigned to bring a college feel to the campus. Construction of the $139.5 million project to redevelop the school began when the bond project was passed in 2020, and building started in June of 2022." We worked closely with the team scouting the project prior to the initial photography. We did a thorough walk through identifying the areas the architects and contractor wanted to focus on. Walk throughs on a project of this magnitude are a must! You don't want to show up the day of the shoot with any suprises. The team wanted to include students in the images so they reached out to the school to help facilitate a group of kids that would like to participate and of course who would receive gift cards as a thank you for their participation. The shoot was a great success and was a truly a team effort. We look forward to returning in the Fall for exteriors when the landscaping is established. Last week, our AP team partnered with Eidos Architects, PC to host an exciting Construction Day for students in the Denver Public School's Legacy Options Construction Management program, led by teacher Patrick Jenkins. Students got an exclusive look at the plans and designs for their future construction lab, witnessed a laser scanning demonstration, and put their own creative construction skills to the test—competing to build the tallest pasta-and-marshmallow structures! It’s incredibly rewarding to help inspire the next generation of builders and innovators.
