Join us Tuesday, August 20, 2024, @ 7:30 pm for a presentation on Musculoskeletal & Orthopedic Red Flags in the Sports Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation by?Dr.?Brian Capogna an?orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee injuries at and a 2024 Castle Connolly Top Doctor Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset.?The sports pre-participation physical exam (PPE) presents an opportunity to identify conditions that may predispose a young athlete to injury. The physician or provider conducting the comprehensive exam should factor in areas such as family history, previous injury, and congenital abnormalities prior to sports clearance. The musculoskeletal and orthopedic systems play a vital role in physical performance and athlete health. It is imperative to properly evaluate young athletes to ensure that any pre-existing conditions can be addressed and corrected prior to full participation. This presentation aims to provide physicians with guidance in detecting musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions that may inhibit or, in some cases, disqualify an athlete from competition.?
