Our CEO Wendy Forkas has been busy recently! ? ? From visiting Sacramento with ARCA to advocate for individuals with disabilities across a variety of points including on the Workforce Policy Bill, Seizure Rescue Medication Bill, the Concurrent Resolution of the 40th Anniversary of Entitlement and the Master Plan for Developmental Services. ? ? To taking a tour of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank with the REF Nonprofit CEO Forum. We all had a blast at our mixer event last Thursday!! We hope everyone who came did as well!? ? We had Jeff and Angie at the check in table, and Sofia helping out in the Arte room where we wrote congratulations cards to our soon to be Arte Graduates and sold some of their amazing art! We had our Butterfly Club Hygiene Kit assembly room as well where people could put together kits with a kind note to be given to our clients! We also had a raffle and a make your own Adjoin swag bag table, we made sure everyone went home with lots of amazing items and a few lucky people got extra items in our raffle! ? ? March's Employee Spotlight: Lillian! ? ? Lillian is a case manager in Imperial Valley, here is what she shared with us about herself and her Adjoin journey! ? ? "It’s been a great experience working with Adjoin as a Case Manager. I have learned a lot from clients, co-workers, staff, Program Manager, and Regional Manager. Adjoin Imperial Valley provides a positive, friendly, fun, and healthy work environment. I have felt support and love throughout the years working with Adjoin from everyone. I have so many wonderful memories working with Adjoin. Especially funny one’s with my co-workers. They are Awesome. We support each other when needed without any doubt or hesitation. I work with the best, most responsible staff, Supported Living. We have worked strongly as a team. It takes a team to assist and coordinate a client’s life 24/7, 365 days a year. ? I enjoy making a big difference in my client’s life and their families. The opportunity to solve complex problems and creatively find solutions that have a positive impact on my clients. It’s very rewarding to see the clients reach their goals and evolve as individuals. I enjoy seeing my clients happy. Their happiness is my happiness. It makes my job satisfying and rewarding.
