Adjoin is a Not-For-Profit 501(c) (3) corporation committed to the success of the individuals we serve. Adjoin provides services and advocacy for people with disabilities and Veterans. We serve more than 1400 clients annually throughout the state ranging in age from 18 to 83 years. Our fundamental goal is to help people achieve a higher quality of life. We provide a continuum of services ranging from employment services, living services to crisis services for clients. Most of our services are provided on a one-to-one basis in the community: at the job and in the home. You will find us involved in such diverse areas as mental health support, recreation, client advocacy, education, health care support, housing, and employment. We assist our clients to be productive citizens by providing a living and work environment where they feel challenged, respected, and accountable as they strive to meet the demands of life. We have a staff of approximately 325 employees, all who play a vital role in the organization. Although our individual and professional experience is wide, the common thread throughout all of our services is our aim to transform lives. Whether on an individual or group basis, we are committed to creating the best outcomes possible for our clients.

This month our Adjoin Veteran's Team honored Vaughn! We are so lucky to have him on the team, thank you for all you do!! ? ? Vaughn shared his Adjoin story with us! Read it below: "When I applied to be a case coordinator at Adjoin Veterans, I told myself if I didn't get the job, I would have to relocate somewhere more affordable. Like many people fresh out of college, I wasn't sure what to do. I found myself with a shiny new bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and yet I still felt stuck, not wanting to make any "wrong choices". This resulted in me taking jobs purely based on pay which I inevitably felt miserable at. Applying to work at Adjoin was my last attempt to stay in San Diego, which I now have the privilege of calling home. Growing up, I never pictured myself enjoying an office job, but as it turns out it's exactly what I've been looking for. Before working at Adjoin, I only worked in media/entertainment, and food service. I never thought I would enjoy life behind the desk, but now I've got my own little cubicle and I'm forever a changed man. At every other job I have worked, I’ve had to check parts of myself at the door every time I clocked in. That was something that I was prepared to do for this job, but that my supervisor didn’t allow me to. It's rare to find a professional environment where you can bring yourself, as you are, every day without fear of consequence.
