Tiffany Rea-Fisher, director of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative, said the joy of attendees at the celebration underscores broader themes across the region, especially in the Adirondacks. “I think people don’t think there are other people here other than white Americans, and it’s just not true,” she said. “There’s been a history from the jump of lots of different cultures putting their footprint and their fingerprints all over this place.” Thank you to Historic Saranac Lake for hosting this unique celebration and drawing attention to the Filipino culture that is one piece of our region's rich tapestry.
