??Greetings from #ISPOR in Barcelona!???? When I reflect on the incredible innovations discussed at this conference, the timing of this new publication couldn’t be more relevant. In a new collaboration with researchers from the Gastroenterology Department from La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia, Spain, along with 27 more hospital facilities across the country, we evaluate the #TECCU app for patients with active inflammatory bowel disease (#IBD). This groundbreaking trial assessed how telemonitoring through a digital platform can reduce hospital visits, improve quality of life, and foster adherence to treatment plans. The study’s structured design highlights how technology can bridge gaps in chronic disease management by empowering patients with tailored, real-time support. As an outcome measure in the study lies the use of the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (#MMAS), a proven tool that captures both unintentional and intentional non-adherence. By integrating the MMAS, we could effectively measure how well patients adhered to their regimens, revealing how telemonitoring boosts engagement. This app provided personalized insights, enabling early intervention and improved disease management—a perfect example of how data-driven care can transform outcomes. The pilot program is only one of many initiatives we are working on together to improve outcomes around the world. I am looking forward to realizing this opportunity as a standards of care and long term product as just another solution to the many challenges we face in outcome improvement and sustainable implementation. Barcelona feels like the ideal place to celebrate this research, as it embodies a spirit of connection and progress.
