Former Republican U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney announced last week that she would vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. Reaction to this announcement was covered widely by the media, and our analysts looked at six articles from across the political spectrum in our Topic of the Week. The most balanced and factual reporting came from The Hill and 19th News. Both articles fell into the "middle/balanced" category of bias and "mix of fact reporting and analysis or simple fact reporting" for reliability. NJ.com and PJ Media received identical reliability scores of 24.67 ("opinion or other issues"). They were almost mirror images of each other in terms of bias, with PJ Media rated as "hyper-partisan right" and NJ.com as "strong left." Similarly, reporting by Wonkette and?Breitbart had contrasting bias ratings, with Wonkette on the line between "hyper-partisan left" and "strong left" and Breitbart firmly in the "strong right" category. Both had reliability scores in the "selective or incomplete story/unfair persuasion/propaganda" category of reliability. You can see all six articles that were rated by our team on the Starter Topic of the Week page on the website. https://lnkd.in/gMhbQDUe
