Our analysis reveals 82% of successful hires come from different occupations or job titles than the position they were hired for. Yet studies have shown that 75% of job seekers are now using AI tools to craft applications so their past experiences better match to the job title and description they are applying for! The use of AI tooling by candidates might be doing more harm than good, especially in recruiting where traditional keyword filtering can no longer meaningfully differentiate between qualified candidates. Staffing agencies, recruiters, and hiring managers must now “fight†AI with AI to regain their ability to identify genuinely qualified talent, and not just look-a-likes. You don’t need to understand the intricacies of PageRank to search on Google. You enter a query, and the results speak for themselves.
