Survey and remediation of fire stopping in a newly built community hospital ?? For this project Adaston were commissioned to carry out a survey assessing the compliance of the passive fire protection in a two-storey community hospital. Following the initial survey, out team oversaw the necessary remediation works. The key outcome here was ensuring the onsite passive fire protection measures meet the Health Technical Memorandum requirements and will provide occupants with enough evacuation time in the event of an emergency. Our wealth of experience in the healthcare sector allowed us to meet the unique demands of such a high risk setting and work effectively with architects, contractors and other stakeholders to keep everyone updated throughout the project.

In celebration of Apprenticeship Week, we want to reflect on the positive impact of apprenticeships during our recent project with Swindon Borough Council. While the programme’s duration didn’t allow us to onboard new apprentices, we collaborated with the council to provide their existing apprentices with hands-on experience in working with fire doors. Over the course of the project, six apprentices joined us on-site, learning practical skills and gaining insights from our team. Hearing their feedback has been incredibly rewarding: "The team was welcoming and full of knowledge, showing us techniques, tools, and insights about fire doors that will be invaluable in the future. The experience was worth it, and I learned so much about proper maintenance and compliance documentation." We’re proud to have created genuine social value through this project, investing in the next generation of fire safety professionals.
