This is a great piece even for our community - https://lnkd.in/ehQyAtSU It’s easy to connect in our community but keeping the momentum going when most collaboration is virtual, remote and non obligatory can be challenging. Some of Leslie Perlow’s tips are quite helpful. The article discusses how virtual meetings can lead to misunderstandings and resentment among teams, particularly when participants interpret interactions differently. Research by Leslie Perlow highlights the importance of managing post-meeting conversations to prevent rifts. Effective strategies include being aware of backstage dynamics, fostering open communication, addressing issues early, and potentially using a liaison to bridge teams. These steps can improve remote team cohesion and prevent negative energy from escalating.

Congratulations to our very own Russell Rogers for completing Harvard AMP! #Harvard #AMP #Innovation #Future https://lnkd.in/ebFXvtYd

Board Advisor | Innovation Ecosystem Architect | Venture Capital | Alumnus of: USF, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, Yale, Wharton, Oxford, IMD | US Army and Air Force Veteran | Community Leader | Family Man

BLUF - I just graduated from Harvard AMP, and it was exceptional! ?? So I owe everyone an end of program update. Firstly, Farewell Michael Tushman! You’re a legend!!! TLDR So why do I say it was exceptional and why does my opinion matter? Well, I’ve completed quite a bit of executive and nonexecutive education in my life - from Stanford to Oxford and many in between. So much that many would (do) say, “What’s the point of so much school?” And I don’t have a great answer that will suit everyone. Let’s just say that my life suits me. Awkward segue…many people reach out to me for career help, life change conversations, etc. from all over the world. Some I know well and many I don’t, but I try to help. It’s interesting. It’s been a former head of state, CEOs, an unemployed teacher, ex military and nearly any other flavor over the years. And their struggles all sound remarkably similar. I think people see my education and innovation path and figure with all my broad exposure maybe I’ve learned something. ?? I guess I’ve found life a bit challenging at times and so I’ve worked to help others struggle less. Connect more. AND this is what Harvard AMP excels at - building meaningful connections with people you respect that #HBS has screened and accepted for you. I mean the curriculum is great, but so is Wharton’s and Yale’s and Oxford’s, etc. They all have incredible instructors. But for me, it’s the social science where Harvard AMP truly rocks! I’ve got life-changing worldwide relationships with my learning group of 8 (many in the attached pics) and another 169 friends that I can and will count on. They can count on me 100%. This doesn’t happen just by throwing people in a program together (drinks can help). It happens because Harvard carefully crafts and controls the program and living environment to gradually pull people out of their protective executive ego shells so they meaningfully connect. Yes, we had 90 cases and exercises and lectures and books to read and personal cases. But they made a rigorous learning environment serious and fun. Life changing. Lastly, I found out last Friday that a person (Don’t mention them in comments if you know.) very very dear to me has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That was the day we graduated from AMP. So I drove for the next 6 hours in a trance. And then it all became clear. And this piece we went through at Harvard AMP was perfect. It helped. https://lnkd.in/e5ae4hja I hope it helps you too. Amazing Instructors: Dean Srikant Datar | Rohit Deshpande | Sunil Gupta | brian hall | Carl Kester | @Cynthia Montgomery | @Youngme Moon | Krishna G. Palepu | Dante Roscini | Clayton Rose | Mike Toffel | Michael Tushman P.S. I downplayed how exceptional they truly are. Learning Group 7B - greatest ever. Gul Ertug | Megan Keleher | Dr. Markus Kurch | Daisuke Minato | Albert Oosthuizen | Russell Rogers | Ashley Thompson My Superb Executive Coach! Anne Fulginiti
