Check out these photos from the second annual #ASL Slam, a vibrant celebration of Deaf culture and talent! The event featured performances by people supported from all over the city, including Darrell from Stillwell, who performed an ASL poem about his love for the Yankees, and volunteers who taught audience members ASL signs for different emotions. There were powerful performances about the challenges of navigating Access-a-Ride and the MTA, as well as a live interview from Steven of 154th Street, who shared why learning ASL is so important for communication. The event also included an amazing dance performance from Elmwood, ASL song interpretations, and more incredible acts. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success!
