We had three proclamations during public hearing this morning: ?? Hispanic Heritage Month – As a minority-majority county, Adams County is approximately 42.4% Hispanic or Latino, and their culture and passion was on full display last Sunday at the county’s second annual Festival Latino, which attracted over 12,000 attendees. ?? National Kinship Care Month – This proclamation honors the team within the Human Services Department working to connect kinship families. We are committed to supporting kinship families by helping connect them with services designed to assist families across the state through community collaboration. ?? National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week (Sept. 15-22) – We’ve created an emerging program called Co-Response, which increases resources for crisis response and crisis prevention to address mental health, substance addiction, homelessness, suicide, crime, and other barriers to individual and community wellness. The Board of County Commissioners and Sheriff Gene Claps recognized staff working to improve the community.
