The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is responsible for the planning, funding and monitoring of public mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services delivered to the residents of Cuyahoga County. Under Ohio law, the ADAMHS Board is one of 50 Boards coordinating the public mental health and addiction treatment and recovery system in Ohio. The Board is a quasi-independent part of county government, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist clients on the road to recovery.

The ADAMHS Board is proud to help fund The MetroHealth System (Cleveland, OH)'s new Psychiatric Emergency Department, located at their Cleveland Heights Medical Center. The new space creates an environment where crisis patients can receive round-the-clock, onsite psychiatric emergency services. We thank MetroHealth for their continued partnership and their commitment to making sure those in crisis can access the help they need, when they need it.?
We recently unveiled our new Psychiatric Emergency Department at the Cleveland Heights Medical Center, providing round-the-clock, on-site psychiatric emergency services to meet the community’s critical need for crisis behavioral healthcare. The Psychiatric Emergency Department is staffed by MetroHealth psychiatrists and behavioral-health trained nurses, nursing assistants and social workers, who can provide crisis care to patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies no matter what time of day or night, every day of the year.
