The Aerospace and Defense Alliance of Mississippi, known as ADAM is an industry trade association that serves as the convening entity for Mississippi’s aerospace, aeronautics, and defense industries. ADAM fosters industry collaboration and strategic planning, providing advocacy, and supports marketing and promotional efforts for the state’s aerospace and defense assets.

Located in Gulfport, the 241-acre site is an ideal site for aerospace companies due to it being located within minutes of the Gulf of Mexico flight testing range, having ample workforce and having direct runway access. Here’s a snapshot of our journey: ??Vandenberg Space Force Base – Got an inside look at NASA's mission and toured the launch facilities. ??Anduril Industries – Visited the HQ in Costa Mesa to discuss defense tech with the team. ??Relativity Space – Explored their rocket production facility and learned about their commercial space launch goals. ??Rocket Lab – Discussed satellite deployment and workforce solutions while touring their newest Long Beach facilities. ?? VAST Space – Discovered their vision for artificial gravity space stations and expanding human presence in orbit. ??DTI – Attended the I2A Expo, connecting with space defense innovators. ??SpaceX – Toured their rocket design and build facilities, discussing the future of the launch industry. Board Member Spotlight! ADAM Vice Chairman, Dr. Gary Butler, is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Camgian. With two decades of experience working in the field of intelligent systems, Dr. Butler has guided Camgian to become an award-winning technology company, collaborating with notable organizations like DARPA, Bloomberg, and the US Military. Under his leadership, Camgian has received numerous awards and moments of recognition, including Gartner's Cool Vendor designation and recognition by Inc. Magazine for its innovative approaches and rapid growth. Prior to founding Camgian, Dr. Butler worked at BBN Technologies, where he worked on the development of artificial intelligence-based systems for military applications. He has been awarded five patents for his work, including the?Genetically Adaptive Neural Network Classification System. He earned his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Cambridge, focusing on wavelet theory and signal analysis. Gary also holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane university. Dr. Butler has made astounding accomplishments in his life and ADAM is proud to have him serving as a board member!
