While there has been much back and forth over the Corporate Transparency Act and the BOI filing requirements, a new deadline of March 21st has officially been established: "After a series of twists and turns, small companies meeting certain qualifications are once again asked to file beneficial ownership information reports (BOI) with the... Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)... However, FinCEN announced it will not be issuing fines or penalties for companies that fail to report." Did You Know: On this date in 2001, music-sharing platform Napster began its downward spiral before shutting down three months later. A $20 billion infringement case (A&M Records, Inc. v. Napster, Inc) was ultimately decided in favor of the RIAA on February 12, 2001. On March 5, 2001, District Court Judge Marilyn Patel issued an injunction ordering Napster to remove any songs named by the plaintiffs in a list of their copyrighted material on the Napster server. Disney is in the midst of a $10 billion lawsuit after an animator alleged that his concept for a Polynesian-themed animated film was stolen and used as the foundation for the 'Moana' movies: "A legal battle is unfolding in Los Angeles as animator Buck Woodall claims Disney lifted the story for its 2016 animated hit Moana from a project he developed years earlier. Woodall alleges that his original concept, Bucky the Surfer Boy, was passed along to Disney through a relative with Hollywood connections, ultimately leading to what he believes was a case of idea theft."
