关于我们
The Ada County Sheriff's Office is the largest local law enforcement agency in Idaho, with over 700 employees. That includes 359 commissioned deputies and 360 professional staffers. The Ada County Sheriff's Office is committed to giving every citizen the best possible service. Our main goal is to ensure Ada County is a safe place to live, work, and play. We do that by focusing on the causes of crime, encouraging community participation, and making the best possible use of existing resources. The ACSO is not just responsible for traditional law enforcement. Idaho's Constitution and state law make county sheriffs responsible for almost every law enforcement function. Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies patrol unincorporated Ada County and the cities of Eagle, Kuna and Star. Ada County Sheriff’s employees also manage and staff the 1,217-bed Ada County Jail, run the county-wide 911 emergency dispatch center and fulfill a variety of statutory and cooperative duties. ACSO employees also issue driver's licenses and concealed weapons permits, patrol county waterways, and serve civil process from the courts. Last week, staff from across the agency came together to complete a three-day Officer Level Leadership Class. During this training, they learned about informal leadership, took the DISC personality inventory, and learned strategies for understanding and collaborating with different personality types. This training is a valuable step in strengthening teamwork and leadership across our teams and agency. This class included quite the mix of people from Driver's License, Jail Kitchen, Emergency Communication, Detention, Court Services, Alternative Sentencing, Civil Services, and Police Services!

On October 18, 2024 ACSO Dispatcher Paige Lewis took a call from a man who reported his girlfriend was in labor. Paige started to give him delivery instructions to help the woman until paramedics could arrive. Approximately two minutes into the call, the woman delivered a baby boy! Paige continued to give instructions to care for the baby and mother while they waited for paramedics to arrive. Excellent job Paige and congratulations on earning your stork pin! This week, we're highlighting our Data Analytics & Intelligence Division (DAI), a team of ten dedicated professionals who use data to help our agency serve Ada County more effectively. The DAI team is divided into four units: a Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC), National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) specialists, Crime Analysis, and Planning & Research. Each unit plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights. Our TAC officer ensures all employees and contractors are up-to-date with FBI-regulated security certifications. Our NIBRS specialists analyze more than 10,000 deputy reports annually, translating information into standardized FBI Crime Codes, which contribute to uniform crime reporting. Our Crime Analysts focus on identifying crime trends, monitoring hot spots, and creating monthly activity reports for our contract cities (Eagle Police, Star Police, Kuna Police) and unincorporated Ada County. They also facilitate the flow of information into the Ada County Crime Map, which uses report data to display recent police activity. Lastly, our Planning & Research Analysts work closely with bureaus across our agency to ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently. Their detailed analysis helps our teams set measurable goals to continually improve. Through their hard work, the DAI team helps answer one essential question: “How can the ACSO do better?” We are proud of the impactful work they do each day to make our county a safer place. In April 2023, 911 Communications Dispatcher Andrew Wetter answered a critical 911 call involving Nicole, a teenager facing a serious medical emergency. Andrew's calm and swift response made all the difference. Andrew was awarded an ACCESS Lifesaving Award by the Ada County Paramedics for this call. Dispatchers don’t always get the chance to meet those they help, but when they do, it’s an incredibly special experience. It was an honor to meet Nicole and her family, and we are so grateful that she is doing well. ??: Ada County Paramedics
