It was really special to be recognized today by the San Diego Small Business Administration along so many other leaders in the San Diego small business and startup ecosystem. Special thanks to Amy Duncan Christie Marcella Matt Alamo Mike Krenn and the entire Connect team for nominating me. Making it possible for chemotherapy patients around the country to keep their privacy and identity has been my focus since I started Cooler Heads Care in 2018. It was awesome to celebrate today with Julia DeVincenzo, RN, BSN, CN-BC and Devon Perryman as we look ahead to our best quarter yet!

Startup <> VC relations are getting worse, not better ?? According to a new Sifted survey conducted this month, 71% of startup founders feel like their relationships with their investors have worsened in the past year. Other findings: ? Nearly half (44%) of the respondents said their investors were not helpful when it came to business strategy ? Nearly two thirds (64%) said their investors were not helpful when it came to personal issues ? Nearly 87% of respondents said that the topic of founder mental health had never been discussed in board meetings ? 84% of respondents said they were under more pressure to prioritise profitability or revenue compared to a year ago This feels fairly damning to me — especially given that so many investors go to great lengths to tell the world that they're "founder friendly".
