?? 1.7 Million Acre-Feet and Counting: Protecting our Groundwater for Future Use ?? National Groundwater Awareness Week highlights how important groundwater is to our health and the environment as well as all the critical work being done to preserve this precious resource. The District is proud to share that we have successfully diverted more than 1.7 million-acre feet of water in the Upper Santa Ann River Basin, captured in regional aquifers for future use. For 100+ years we’ve operated as one of California’s first sustainable groundwater replenishment agencies.
