Recently, a group of our Acuity leaders visited Purdue University in Indiana to connect with students and faculty within the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology departments. A highlight of the trip was a visit to the Smart Machine & Assistive Robotics Technology (SMART) Lab, where the team explored advancements in robotics. The SMART Lab’s mission is to make robotics technology accessible everywhere, including in developing countries, rural areas, and for individuals facing challenging environments or living with disabilities. Additionally, the team engaged in meaningful discussions at Purdue’s Women in Engineering (WiE) Program, focusing on mentorship and career development for women in engineering.
