It's confirmed - ActiveQuote staff will be taking on an Ultra Marathon Walk along the Vale of Glamorgan Coastal Path in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre. The date has been set, and staff have already committed to take part in this epic challenge that promises to be unforgiving, yet unforgettable. Walking 32.5 miles in one day, starting at Ogmore-by-Sea and finishing at Penarth Pier is going to be tough, but with every participant raising vital funds for ActiveQuote's 2025 Charity Partner Velindre, we hope to make a dent in this year's 12k target. Ambitious? Of course, but with this endurance challenge and a Charity Golf Day soon to be announced we are confident we will achieve this. Charity Partner 2025 confirmed - Velindre Cancer Centre Once again, the staff here at ActiveQuote have voted to make Velindre Cancer Centre our 2025 charity partner. In 2024 we raised over ￡10k for Velindre Fundraising, which we were very proud of, but the plan is to raise even more in 2025. Our charity champions have already put the wheels in motion and have events in the pipeline as early as next week, where we will be holding our first 'Toastie Tuesday' of the year and holding our own #WearRedForWalesAndVelindre.?We also have plans to shortly announce this year's staff endurance challenge, as well as hosting our 4th?charity golf day. As always, all money raised through our organised events will be donated to Velindre, which will be used to ensure the incredible services offered by Velindre Cancer Centre can continue for those who need it. Each December our Charity Champions organise an initiative that supports our local community, and this year was no exception. Staff were encouraged to purchase wanted items for a foodbank collection, and the response was simply incredible. The Christmas spirit was well and truly alive, and the gift of giving was evident to see. We've held foodbank collections in the past, but this has been our best to date. Tracy Carwardine , who is a Charity Champion and Nigel Wilson Cert CII had the pleasure of delivering our donations to the Cardiff Foodbank on Wednesday, where they were greeted by friendly and appreciative staff. We thank every staff member who contributed and made this our best foodbank collection ever. Your generosity resulted in us donating 146.8kg of food. This will provide 13 local people in crisis with 3-days' worth of food, which is something we can all be very proud of. ActiveQuote are proud to be supporting Cardiff Food Bank! Christmas is a time for giving, and the coming together for families all around the world. However, not every family is fortunate enough to be able to feed themselves and their families and have to rely on local foodbanks to survive. This is a very poor state of affairs, but one that many are unfortunately facing this Christmas within our local community.
