    As the year ends, I’ve been reflecting on my conversations with 300+ leaders over the last two years. We’ve talked about what keeps them up at night, how their teams and companies are REALLY doing, and what actually works (and doesn’t work) when it comes to changing outdated standards of operation, creating impact and new levels of growth, and finding peace in leadership. ? In every single conversation, it’s clear that real change begins with each individual leader. Your presence, self-care, and approach are the most powerful factors in developing high-performing teams, inspiring individual accountability, and creating a thriving culture.? ? Trying to address company culture, your team, or any other external factors without addressing the leader first doesn't work. At least not sustainably. It’s a bandaid. It’s avoidance. It's exhausting. And it’s silly.? ? Yes, it’s silly not to start with the individual leader. Consider it procrastination: it delays your ability to get to real solutions to the most significant challenges your company faces.? ? It has to start with YOU.? ? No matter how we’ve taught, marketed, or implemented this work — whether tackling major culture shifts, focusing on innovation, sales, retention, leading enterprise initiatives, or using scalable training platforms — the most real and lasting change comes from working with you as an individual leader and ensuring you are equipped for your best impact and well-being. ? Plus, the higher a leader’s position and responsibility, the more conscious, no-nonsense, and intentional they need to be.     Reflected to me today by a CEO I highly respect (who happens to have great IEP and gets it): "Anese, you've chosen the hardest thing in the world to teach and get people to understand. Your work is literally teaching people the intangibles of showing up. It's essential, but people don't see it or the value of it immediately. It's a big lift. When push comes to shove, they're going to focus on the hard skills, the sales, the urgent, etc. But gosh... if people showed up better and took responsibility for it, we'd be doing the hard skills, and sales, and urgent better... and saving so much time and energy... and money. Hmmm... What a pickle." Yes... Yes I have. Yes it is. Yes, often they do not. Yes it is. And yes, they often do. Yes we would, we would we would... Here. For. It. What I can say unabashedly is that when people lean in and do this work with my team and I and actually DO IT, BE IT, EMBODY IT, change happens. Sustainably and for years to come. Getting people into the work to do this work on themselves and for their organizations can be tricky - it's easy to take for granted and miss the nuance. I get it. But it works. It takes courage to be the kind of leader or CEO who says... YES... I'm bringing this in. I'm going to work on how I show up. I'm going to give my people tools and resources to help them show up better, too (at work and at home because this work travels - you can't take the IEP out). Introducing the Presence Protocol Program? with a "Reset & Rise" focus to support presence, resiliency, leadership, alignment, and leading solidly (in so many ways) in 2025. -- This virtual program starts on January 9th, 2025. -- There are three levels of engagement to play at: Participant, Mastermind Cohort, and Private Immersion. -- Our work will run for 90 days, so you will have a conscious and intentional infusion of this work in Q1.     "I can't bring my full or real self to my team; they won't be able to handle it. Please make sure you don't share any of what we discussed." These words were spoken to me by an executive in a company working on creating psychological safety and full permission for authenticity in the organization. Their intention was to improve collaboration and innovation and to reduce burnout and the attraction and retention problems they were having. I was about to give a keynote on IEP (Intentional Energetic Presence?) and leadership, specifically addressing authenticity, diversity, and showing up fully as we are in service of impact. And one of their top top top executives was living and leading from this space. Can you see the painful irony here? It's impossible to create a culture and workforce that is authentic, safe, diverse, and shows up fully if you, as a leader, don't have that for yourself. This is not uncommon. I have these conversations weekly. Many executives that come to this work are considering leaving because they're exhausted, feel alone, feel the weight of the world on their shoulders to show up a certain way, etc. Once they get into the work and integrate (and embody) the tools of the IEP Methodology, they create a different type of energetic field, vibration, and presence that enables them to hold their space, show up authentically, and, therefore, create that space for others. Some of these leaders still leave, they discover through doing their own inner work that the organization is not in alignment for them or their values and is sucking the life out of them. So they leave from a place of authenticity, power, discernment, and choice. However... Many of the executives and leaders who thought they'd be leaving and were looking for their exit ended up staying because they realized there was more they could do from an internal state on their end to lead their energy and create change -- both internally for themselves and systemically in their organizations. After all, authenticity is contagious. Presence is contagious. Leadership is contagious. Awareness is contagious. But you have to do the work for yourself first. Because... You are contagious.
