RESEARCH FOCUS - Investigate links between musculoskeletal injury history, aging, health behaviors, and quality of life. - Develop health education and awareness programs for girls and women. - Implement evidence-based physical activity interventions for girls, women, and families. - Address sex-related differences in sports injury rates. - Identify sex-specific injury prevention and recovery protocols.

Let's hear from former research student Noah Gadd about the impact and experience of serving as a Research Assistant with Active Girls Healthy Women. Noah graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Sciences in Human Health Sciences, a minor in Health Advocacy, and a certificate in Undergraduate Research in Human Health Sciences. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Kentucky. During his undergrad at UK, Noah was a Research Assistant with AGHW and worked with Director Dr. Dee Dlugonski.

They educated children and single parents pursuing higher education on role modeling healthy lifestyles. February Bingocize Recap! Bingocize combines fitness, health education, and Bingo for a fun, interactive way to stay active! Active Girls Healthy Women is partnering with the Human Development Institute to bring the Bingocize curriculum to youth in the community. Our Movement Mentors are leading these engaging sessions, encouraging healthy habits through play and movement. This work is proudly supported by the UK HealthCare Healthy Kentucky Initiative. ?? ??

Back in December, Our Movement Mentors volunteered with Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization that encourages girls of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. The season culminated in a community impact 5k event, where our Movement Mentors cheered on the sidelines for participants and handed out cupcakes!
