On?#WorldRefugeeDay, there are more refugees in the world than ever before. Displacement in?Gaza,?Sudan, and?Ukraine?drive millions to hunger. In mid-2023, 110 million people worldwide were displaced, and 43.3 million of them --- or 40% --- were children under 18. By now, that number has risen even higher. Action Against Hunger works closely with refugees to help them rebuild their lives. Many of our staff members are?refugees?themselves. Every day, we work to prevent and treat malnutrition, provide mental health services, improve access to water and sanitation, and support displaced people, wherever they end up. As conflict in Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine rages on, our teams face the displacement crisis head-on. Action Against Hunger HEARO https://bit.ly/3xgpLpD

We welcome the 60-day ceasefire between Hezbollah, Lebanon, and Israel. It's a vital opportunity to help displaced families and repair damage to infrastructure and homes. But the situation is still fragile. Over 3,500 people have been killed in Lebanon in the last year and more than 1 million people fled their homes to escape the violence. Any violations of the ceasefire could derail our efforts. We continue to call for a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza to achieve lasting peace.

A hotter world means a food-insecure world. By investing in a climate-smart future, we can prevent hunger for generations to come. That's why we're committed to addressing the climate and hunger crisis at?#COP29. And beyond.
Alvin Munyasia, our Advocacy and Communications Specialist, has highlighted the critical need to enhance sustainable farming practices and promote the cultivation of local foods to improve resilience, nutrition, and livelihoods. "As an international humanitarian organization, our primary focus is treating malnutrition. In Africa, we face significant challenges in achieving dietary diversity. Many people struggle to afford healthy diets, which is why it is essential to produce food locally," Mr. Munyasia stated during a panel discussion on locally led climate adaptation and the revival of local foods at the ongoing Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. Action Against Hunger is currently implementing various climate-smart agriculture initiatives across several communities to ensure continued food production amid ongoing climate disruptions.
