I am honored and blessed to have been promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. To all my training partners. Together, we have shared victories, faced defeats, and above all, learned from one another. We have supported eachother not just through the sport of jiu jitsu but in life as well, always looking out for one another and being available when someone is going through a hardship. Without you, the journey to this milestone would have been unimaginable. To my wife, Natalia, your unwavering support has been my guiding light. Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed—from the countless nights and weekends I was away training, coaching or competing to the endless cycles of washing our family's jiu jitsu gis. Your strength and understanding have been nothing short of remarkable. Thank you for always rushing to the gym, even at the last minute, because I forgot to pack a bag or because I needed a shake to refuel and didn’t have the time in my schedule to make a stop. Your love and patience have made all the difference. To my children, your role in this journey is immeasurable. There was a short time I had stepped away from jiu jitsu and I didn’t realize how much I missed the sport untill watching you embrace this sport which reignited my passion and purpose. I know you continue to train because you know how much it means to me and you want me to be proud of you and believe me I am, however I returned to jiu jitsu hoping to be someone you could be proud of. Reflecting on my past, I recognize how martial arts transformed me. From a young age, I was no stranger to conflict, but jiu jitsu offered me a constructive outlet, teaching me discipline, self-control, and the importance of focus. These lessons extended far beyond the mats, helping me navigate life's challenges and ultimately leading me to become the person I am today—a successful CEO, driven not just by business goals but by the values instilled through martial arts. The most profound lesson I've learned from jiu jitsu is the essence of true happiness. It's not found in material success or accolades but in the joy of learning, teaching, and being part of a community. This realization has reshaped my approach to leadership, emphasizing mentorship, continuous learning, and the importance of fostering a supportive culture. The parallels between the jiu jitsu and the boardroom are clear; both environments thrive on mutual respect, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence. As I stand here today, I am reminded that the journey of jiu jitsu is infinite. It's not just about mastering techniques and winning gold medals but embracing the continuous process of growth, both within ourselves and in how we contribute to the lives of others.
