The #16DaysOfActivism campaign to end #GenderBasedViolence is a global movement to raise awareness and take action against the violence that disproportionately impacts women and girls worldwide. Action Against Hunger is leading the charge with a comprehensive approach, including gender analysis, survivor-centred support, and efforts to build resilient community networks for prevention. These actions are essential in creating lasting change and ensuring that survivors receive the care and support they need. It’s time to unite and say: #NoExcuse for violence. Every action we take, no matter how small, makes a difference in building a world free from gender-based violence. Let’s continue to advocate for change, educate, and empower individuals and communities to act. Action Against Hunger | ACF-USA #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #GenderEquality #Empowerment #CommunityAction

???????????????????? ?????????????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ?????????????? ??????????????????????? For farmers in Zambia, connecting to local markets is not just about business—it’s about sustaining livelihoods and saving lives. In the face of a devastating drought,?Action Against Hunger Zambia?is stepping up to support farmers with climate-resilient farming techniques, ensuring they can weather the storms and thrive. One example is?Sitwala, a local farmer who, through training and support from Action Against Hunger, learned sustainable farming methods that helped him grow and sell his produce even in challenging conditions. By linking him with local buyers, we helped him boost his business, ensuring his future and supporting his community. Our approach involves more than just farming; it’s about building resilience, creating markets, and securing livelihoods?in the face of climate challenges. ???Together, we can build more resilient food systems and support smallholder farmers across the globe. Alvin Munyasia, our Advocacy and Communications Specialist, has highlighted the critical need to enhance sustainable farming practices and promote the cultivation of local foods to improve resilience, nutrition, and livelihoods. "As an international humanitarian organization, our primary focus is treating malnutrition. In Africa, we face significant challenges in achieving dietary diversity. Many people struggle to afford healthy diets, which is why it is essential to produce food locally," Mr. Munyasia stated during a panel discussion on locally led climate adaptation and the revival of local foods at the ongoing Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. Action Against Hunger is currently implementing various climate-smart agriculture initiatives across several communities to ensure continued food production amid ongoing climate disruptions. ???Addressing the Climate and Hunger Crisis at #COP29??? The climate crisis is deepening the global hunger and nutrition crisis, disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities, especially women and girls. Changing temperatures, increasing droughts, more severe floods, and rapidly degrading soil quality are all factors that prevent people from accessing sufficient, nutritious food. At?#COP29,?Action Against Hunger?is committed to amplifying the urgent need for integrated solutions to tackle?climate change?and?hunger. By supporting sustainable, climate-resilient food systems, we can empower communities to build better futures for themselves. Together, we can reverse the impacts of the climate crisis on global food security and protect the most vulnerable populations. Read our position paper here: https://lnkd.in/dfRpN7-Q
