This Bryant program offers students a crash course on innovation by tackling real world problems with design thinking, teamwork, and creative solutions.? ACS Industries India Pvt Ltd. Brings Clean Potable Water to Local School Clean water is a fundamental necessity, yet many schools face challenges in ensuring a clean water supply. The Pragati Vidyalaya (Pragati school) Loni Deokar, Pune India has long grappled with issues related to clean potable water which posed health risks to students and school staff. Recognizing this pressing issue, and keeping in line with spirit of ACS Industries Inc’s Corporate social responsibility Initiatives, ACS Industries Pvt. Ltd in India collaborated with school administrators to address the problem effectively and donated a new state of the art water filtration facility, capable of removing harmful contaminants and ensuring a steady supply of potable water. This development not only enhances the school’s infrastructure but also promotes the health and well-being of children and communities. This contribution will ensure clean drinking water for the 250 school students as well as teachers and staff of the school on a daily basis. The water purification plant inauguration ceremony was held on date 15th January 2025, Wednesday in the presence of Mrs. Wendy Buckler, Mr. Steven Buckler’ Chairman & CEO of ACS Industries, Mr. Ryan Abranovic’ Sr. Vice President, Mr. Prithviraj Nath’ Country Head and other representatives of ACS India. Mr. Steven Buckler, Mrs. Wendy Buckler and Mr. Ryan Abranovic also distributed chocolates to the school children and had short interactions with them. During the ceremony, Mr. Steven Buckler’ Chairman & CEO of ACS Industries expressed their commitment to support local community in education and health initiatives. The US Treasury has unveiled new specifications around the hydrogen production tax credits offered by the Inflation Reduction Act. Section 45V of the IRA offers $3/kg to clean hydrogen producers. The new rules maintain that electrolyzers must be located within the same grid as renewable electricity assets in order to qualify for the credits. The act's original 2028 requirement of renewable electricity being generated within the same hour that electrolysis is occurring has been pushed back to 2023, and existing nuclear reactors now qualify as renewable electricity sources for this program. This relaxation of the rules will provide an easier path for hydrogen producers to be profitable while also incentivizing older nuclear power plants to continue operations amidst an economy that has been putting them at risk of retirement. A research team from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea has developed a new technology that dramatically increases the durability of platinum-based catalyst layers in Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers. Platinum-cobalt alloys have been previously demonstrated to deliver exceptional efficiency, but suffer from high cost and low durability when incorporated into a catalyst layer. The research team has devised a way to integrate nitrogen into PtCo alloys. This chemical addition prevents the dissolution of the cobalt elements, significantly improving catalyst longevity, maintaining high efficiency rates, and reducing the amount of platinum (and therefore overall cost) that goes into a catalyst layer assembly. This innovation could bring cheaper commercially available fuel cells with world-class efficiency rates to the market.
