A typical trucking company will pay about $.10 per mile for insurance (auto liability and cargo insurance), which generally accounts for about 4% of their total operating costs, on the average. But the cost per mile is by no means the same for every trucking company.? High-performing trucking companies can pay far less for insurance than low-performing trucking companies. This difference in insurance costs can have a substantial impact on a trucking company’s bottom line profitability. Source: American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI). (2023, June). When a crash occurs, you need to "be ready to pounce" in order to get the best claim outcome for your company. John Liberatore of Primacy Risk Services shares how to do this in an excerpt from his DE-RISKATHON session. For the full session recording, contact your Acrisure Risk Advisor.
“???????????????????? ???? ???????? ?? ???????????? ??????????????, ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ???? ?????????? ???? ????????????!” —John Liberatore, Founder & President, Primacy Risk Services Investigations. John Liberatore offered insights into successful claims mitigation in his De-Riskathon presentation “Transportation: Managing Claims with a Purpose.” He shared that in the event of an accident, the driver is not the person who determines if a person is injured or the severity of the injuries. When the driver reports the incident – which must be immediately – safety leaders have to be ready to respond immediately and take action. In the event of an accident, the driver must collect the names, addresses, and phone numbers of those in the other vehicle. At a minimum, the driver should get the license plate number, which can later help identify passengers if all information is not collected. Does your organization have a streamlined process by which drivers report incidents and these are immediately addressed? Contact our Acrisure risk advisors to help you create a process that helps you better handle incidents and future claims, should they arise. #RiskManagement #RiskMitigation #Safety #Trucking #Transportation

???Attention, Transportation Industry Professionals!??? Starting November 18th, 2024, a new rule change will be implemented for the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Under this change, State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs) must downgrade a driver's license by removing the commercial driving privilege when the driver has a status of 'prohibited' in the Clearinghouse. To help SDLAs comply with this rule change, utilize the linked checklist from the FMCSA that outlines the necessary steps and requirements: https://lnkd.in/gaXgHsYy For more information on the rule change, you can visit the FMCSA website:?https://lnkd.in/eX4-qbA Contact your Acrisure Risk Advisor today for guidance on help staying compliant. #TransportationSafety #FMCSA #Clearinghouse #DrugAndAlcoholTesting #Compliance #CDLdowngrades

The increasing cost of health insurance has put a pinch on trucking company profitability. For a typical trucking company, driver benefits account for ~8% of total operating costs. On a per mile basis, those driver benefits cost trucking companies $.19 per mile (almost twice as much as truck insurance).
