Founded in the late 1890s by the Solomon Family, ACME Block & Brick, Inc. began as ACME Block and Tile Company. The Solomon’s ran the business up until 1942, when an entrepreneur, A.J. Rivers, Sr., bought the company. The company was originally designed to service the Roane County area but as of today, it has grown to cover a large area. ACME Block & Brick now serves Southern Kentucky throughout middle and eastern Tennessee and into northern Georgia. ACME is headquartered in Kingston, TN to provide a central location to operate an ever-growing block and brick business. Today ACME Block and Brick is still owned and managed by the Rivers family. The product line that was once dedicated to the production of only top-quality concrete blocks has expanded through the years into a full-blown masonry and hardscapes superstore. ACME supplies everyone from the architect designing the project to the weekend do-it-yourselfer. ACME Block & Brick, Inc. is a company based on the highest standards of quality and committed to delivering the best possible service. As we continue to grow and expand, we will always remain with the tradition that this company was built on.

Masonry Institute of Tennessee, ACME Block & Brick, Willocks Brothers and Acme Brick were excited to be a part of the 3rd Annual Trades Day at Pellissippi State Community College Strawberry Plains campus today. The event was geared towards exposing eight high schools and their students to the “trades” in the local community. The highlight of the event was Dustin Love, Director of Workforce Development for MIT, created a hands-on exhibit to expose the students to masonry! This past Saturday we had an incredible turnout for the Spec MIX Brick 500, which has now expanded to include the Jr 500 and state apprenticeship contest! With over 26 contestants, this event showcased the best in masonry skills, including high school students competing alongside dedicated apprentices. The apprenticeship contest lasted three hours, determining who will represent Tennessee in Las Vegas. Congratulations to the winners: ? 1st Year: Jonathan Costillo (Local 6 Apprenticeship Program, employed by Wasco, Inc.
