This year, 7 of our members participated in LA Hacks, the biggest hackathon in Southern California hosted by UCLA! This was particularly exciting because it's been about 3 years since our chapter has brought our members to an out-of-state competition or conference. LA Hacks gave us an opportunity to meet fellow hackers from other universities, attend informative workshops, explore new technologies and much more. It was exciting to design, implement, and present a project within 36hrs alongside hundreds of other coders. Moreover, it was great to marvel at the creativity and innovation of other team's projects!

关于我们
ACM aims to enhance the Computer Science program at UNR by teaching students valuable tech skills and introducing students to companies in the area. Students have the opportunity to learn skills that are not taught in class and network with people that have similar interests. ACM also hosts two large competitions, the Biggest Little Hackathon in November and the Programming Competition in the spring. Currently, ACM has 100+members and we're looking to keep growing.

Happy Lunar New Year's Eve ACM????!! We wish everyone good health, success, and studies for this upcoming year. We can think of no better way to kick off the spring semester than a Game Night! We hope to see everyone on Friday, February 7th from 6-8PM @ HREL 109/110 for an evening of fun to welcome this spring semester and the new year. We'll be discussing our plans for the upcoming semester, as well as provide information on our highly anticipated Biggest Little Hackathon 2025, then dig into some Cane’s and bond over some awesome games like Uno, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, and more ?? ?! We will also have a switch again for games like Mario Party and Mario Kart, courtesy to the lovely Kirin! There will be free food for the first 100 attendees, but please RSVP via our discord if you're planning on attending so we can have a head count for who would be coming. We can't wait to see you all there!

I and the board of officers at the Association for Computing Machinery, University of Nevada Reno successfully organized UNR's first ever game jam! We decided to put this event on as a response to the rise in video game development interest at UNR. It was the first ever game-dev competition at the University, and the first of its kind to bring on local Reno game developers to interact first-hand with the students' creations. Thanks to our panel of judges and sponsoring companies for making it happen!
