Hi, we think we owe you one more #RecSys2024 recap... we won't be *very* long. We are looking back on five wonderful days of conferencing in beautiful Bari. Filled with talks, discussions, and panzerotti. And a teeny bit of karaoke. This year's conference featured a whopping 20 workshops and 6 tutorials. We had keynotes by Mark Riedl, Michael Jordan and Mounia Lalmas-Roelleke. On top of that, we hosted 17 paper sessions, the women's breakfast, a social dinner, many coffee breaks, various poster sessions, dutiful lunch breaks, a few sponsor sessions, a lot of photos and selfies, a huge presence in the city and many, many more things. Also a heartfelt congratulations to this year's best paper awards winners: - Long Paper - Zhang et al. on 'Towards Empathetic Conversational Recommender Systems': https://lnkd.in/eEWNGRje - Long Paper Runner-up - Ungruh et al. on 'Putting Popularity Bias Mitigation to the Test: A User-Centric Evaluation in Music Recommenders': https://lnkd.in/ean3jwgh - Short Paper - Aridor et al. on 'The MovieLens Beliefs Dataset: Collecting Pre-Choice Data for Online Recommender Systems': https://lnkd.in/ePvdpbRT - Student Paper - Zhao et al. on 'Unlocking the Hidden Treasures: Enhancing Recommendations with Unlabeled Data': https://lnkd.in/eYVsXapa [Here comes the 'we would like to thank the Academy' part] We would like to thank the organizing committee and student volunteers, who all did a fantastic job. Above all, we thank Pasquale Lops and Tommaso Di Noia for their role as general chairs. We had an unforgettable experience in Italy and that is also thanks to you. We would also like to thank all sponsors who made this RecSys possible. It was quite a long list this year: Google, Netflix, Huawei, Amazon, Booking, EY, OVS, Meta, Ethicasystem, Recombee, Deloitte, Sparkle, Spindox, Exprivia, and, of course, our challenge sponsor Ekstra Bladet. We might have forgotten a few... On top of that, we would like to thank the relentless reviewers and particularly our outstanding reviewers, who have provided constructive and helpful feedback to authors. Finally, a big thank you to all who attended. It would not have been a successful RecSys in an empty theatre. See you next year in Prague, September 22-26.
