The ACLU-FL has been the state's premier guardian of liberty, working in the Courts, at the Capitol, and in communities to defend and expand the civil liberties and civil rights of all Floridians. HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM INTERNSHIPS AT THE ACLU-FL Exposure: Engage with the issues and the people at the forefront of today’s most impactful civil liberties and civil rights fights and victories. Experience: Contribute to meaningful work in our Field Department while developing substantive skills and professional experience. Mentorship: Learn from ACLU of FL employees on a range of topics through trainings and on-the-job learning. WHO MAY BE A GOOD FIT FOR AN INTERNSHIP WITH THE ACLU-FL You would be a great fit for an internship with the ACLU-FL if you are: Passionate about civil liberties and eager to learn. Professional and display a high level of empathy. Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse communities and audiences. Highly organized, diligent, and attentive to detail. ? INTERNSHIP DETAILS Time Commitment: The internship requires a part-time commitment of 20 hours per week. Internship Timeline: April 1st - June 27th? Compensation: $15 per hour for those students who do not receive course credit. Arrangements can be made with educational institutions for work/study or course credit. Additional Information: Interns will be reimbursed for any mileage incurred for pre-approved travel. Last Friday, a federal judge found that the state of Florida’s transgender healthcare ban discriminates against state employees on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This is a win for equal justice under the law.
