Earlier this week, the ACI FMA Tanzania Committee had the privilege of meeting with officials from the Bank of Tanzania for a productive introductory session, aimed at identifying key areas of collaboration to advance Tanzania's financial markets. In summary, the focal points of discussion between BOT and ACI FMA Tanzania encompassed: 1. ACI FMA Tanzania Vision for 2024-2026: The committee outlined its pillars for the next two years, emphasizing ACI Identity, ACI Education, and ACI Intentional Stakeholder Engagement as guiding principles to enhance value within the financial markets community. 2. Promotion of Ethical Behavior: Both parties committed to working closely to promote ethical conduct and adherence to the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market Code of Conduct, emphasizing the importance of the recently updated version shared in January 2024. 3. Education Partnership: Recognizing the challenges posed by global market dynamics, particularly in light of recent geopolitical turmoil and issues such as greenback scarcity, the Bank of Tanzania pledged to collaborate with ACI FMA in educational initiatives aimed at deepening knowledge in the global markets arena. Additionally, the Central Bank assured its support in formulating policies conducive to fair and transparent financial market activities. 4. Information Intermediary Role: ACI FMA Tanzania pledged to serve as an intermediary body, ensuring the accurate and timely communication of information from the Bank of Tanzania to other market participants, thereby promoting transparency and integrity in the financial markets. ?
