Achieve is a drop off site for TOYS FOR JOY. We are collecting items now through Friday, December 13th. We are collecting new, unwrapped items for newborns to 18 year-olds. Toys for Joy is a wonderful program that distributes toys to families in the Anoka County area that are in need during the holiday season. Today we held our Years of Service Awards where we honored participants who have reached milestone years coming to Achieve. We celebrated participants who have reached 5 years, 10 years, and more. Lyn has been at Achieve for 40 years!! Congratulations to Lyn and to the many participants who were celebrating milestones. We also had a great performance by our band, Dance at Your Own Risk. Our annual nut sale is happening! You can purchase bags of nuts at Village Bank branches or at Achieve. We are selling deluxe mixed, cashews, pistachios, almonds, classic trail mix, and California trail mix. Each resealable bag consists of one pound of roasted and salted nuts. All proceeds support the awesome adults with disabilities we serve. Just about two weeks ago, we held our annual Fall Fundraiser and it was a wonderful event. Not only was the event a huge success with record-breaking attendance, the event raised a little more than $112,000 for Achieve Services! We had about 370 guests, including 63 participants. Thank you to our Board Members, volunteers, staff, guests, sponsors, DJ Nate, and all who supported and helped in making Achieve's Fall Fundraiser such a wonderful event. We recently sleeved our 2 millionth card!! For every million greeting cards we sleeve a golden ticket is hidden to be discovered by a lucky participant. The golden ticket winner is then treated to lunch. Since we sleeved 2 million cards, two golden tickets were awarded. The Achieve participants, staff, families, and guests enjoyed a variety of activities including a DJ and dance, karaoke, face painting, temporary tattoos, yard games, a sucker pull with prizes, and a dunk tank.
