United Way Miami and Achieve Miami are joining forces to provide high-quality training to 150 individuals and pave the way for them to become future educators in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Under the leadership of Symeria Hudson, president and CEO of United Way Miami, and Leslie Miller Saiontz, founder and president of Achieve Miami, this partnership with the Teacher Accelerator Program (TAP) is a significant step in UpSkill Miami's mission to train nearly 800 individuals in high-demand fields such as healthcare, transportation, construction trades, energy, aviation and now education. Amid a severe teacher shortage, with nearly 5,000 vacancies across Florida—including hundreds in Miami-Dade— this collaboration directly addresses one of our community's most urgent needs.
