??♀? Don't forget to stretch! The negative thoughts that come with failure or being thrust out of our comfort zone can make the situation even worse and get in the way of our growth. Susan David, Ph.D. offers some simple but useful ways to change our perspective to grow from adversity by swapping emotional rigidity for agility: ? I'm not good at this ? I'm not even going to try ? I was so humiliated last time ? I shouldn't have thoughts like this ? I'm still learning ? I'm going to give it a shot ? I learned a lot from last time ? These thoughts are just human If you found these useful, share them with your network. Have you caught yourself in one of these situations? Do you have tips of your own? Tell us more in the comments! #Leadership #Management #ExecutiveCoaching
Psychologist. Harvard Medical School. TED Speaker. Author of the #1 WSJ bestseller Emotional Agility. Co-Founder of Institute of Coaching.
Rigidity in the face of complexity is toxic. When we're emotionally rigid, we get hooked by feelings and behaviors that don't serve us. When we're emotionally agile, we're flexible with our emotions in order to respond optimally to everyday situations. We need greater levels of emotional agility for true resilience and thriving.

?? There's a hidden threat lurking in your company! Studies consistently show that diverse teams outperform their competitors, yet biases can be holding you back. Businesses often rely on corporate HR policies, trainings, and legal remedies. However, the hard part is addressing unconscious biases. Here is a simple framework to start tackling this issue: ?? Mindfulness: Notice, label, and become aware of stereotypes that arise in one’s mind. ? Stereotype Replacement: Replace what was noticed with positive counterexamples. ?? Individuation: Dissociate group-based stereotypes from individuals. ?? Prosocial Behavior: Focus on positive mental and emotional states, particularly compassion. ?? Perspective-Taking: Put yourself in other people’s shoes. Reverse that list and you're left with the acronym PRISM (kind of) to help you remember these principles. What are your experiences with addressing unconscious bias? Share them in the comments below! Dive deeper into tackling biases, with actual business examples, in the full article: https://lnkd.in/efvhNgRT #TeamTransformation #Management #DEI
