Hydrogen is expected to be 12% of the global energy mix by 2050. The Advanced Clean Energy Storage (ACES) Project will demonstrate hydrogen's potential at scale. Facts about the project: 1?? Could generate up to 100 metrics tonnes of hydrogen per day 2?? Expected to begin commercial operation in 2025 3?? Helps meet the need for dispatchable lower carbon power generation Learn more about how we are executing this project here: https://lnkd.in/ghKKUZME #CVX

ACES Delta brings utility and industrial scale solutions of production and conversion to storage and delivery.
关于我们
The Advanced Clean Energy Storage hub is being developed in Delta, Utah as a large renewable energy storage facility. Capable of decarbonizing the western United States, the site will enable utility and industrial scale green hydrogen production from renewable energy sources and provide storage of hydrogen in underground salt dome caverns to provide a huge reservoir of renewable fuel for power generation.

Recently, Chevron Chairman and CEO, Mike Wirth; CNE President, Jeff Gustavson; Vice President of Hydrogen, Austin Knight; and ACES Chief Commercial Officer, Prerna Jain toured the Advanced Clean Energy Storage (ACES) site, in Delta, Utah. This green hydrogen project will be one of the largest in the world. In collaboration with Mitsubishi Power and with the Intermountain Power Agency as a customer, ACES Delta, LLC is positioned to provide an end-to-end lower carbon solution that produces renewable hydrogen. Additional phases of this project are being considered to supply hydrogen to the western United States. Stay Curious, Stay Excited! This one was fun: I recently sat down with Tisha Schuller of Adamantine Energy on her Energy Thinks podcast. Tisha and I spent a lot of time together over the last two years with the National Petroleum Council, specifically working on the “Harnessing Hydrogen” report. We talked a lot about what we learned, the recommendations we made to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Secretary Jennifer Granholm, and how we hope it will make a difference as the energy system grows and evolves. We also talked about why Chevron is bullish on hydrogen, REAL projects that we’re proud of - like ACES Delta, LLC - and the role that policy will play in everything. The episode dropped this morning; have a listen and let me know your thoughts! #ChevronNewEnergies #NPC #harnessinghydrogen #energytransition #energyevolution #energythinks
Thank you Austin Knight Chevron New Energies for joining Tisha Schuller on the #energythinkspod! Austin recognizes that forces are creating the #TheMoment. What about you? Listen to this episode to hear #hydrogen’s horizons! #energytransition #energyfuture #natgas #oilandgas ? https://lnkd.in/gVwMcPvH

"Partnerships are a key to driving ecosystem development and getting from innovation to scaled deployment – partnership requires bold collaboration, and we proud of setting that example with ACES Delta, LLC." Austin Knight, CNE VP
As I reflect on last month's Gastech Exhibition & Conference the conversations with customers, partners, policy makers, and journalists, I keep coming back to a few takeaways: ? I believe our industry shares the world’s ambition for reducing carbon emissions… a challenge that’s larger than what any one company, industry or country can achieve alone. Many solutions are needed. We all have an important role to play, and at Chevron we believe that if we want a highly functioning society that operates without a carbon footprint, hydrogen is the right solution for a lot of things. Partnerships are a key to driving ecosystem development and getting from innovation to scaled deployment – partnership requires bold collaboration, and we proud of setting that example with ACES Delta, LLC. Transparent and supportive policy shouldn't pick winners and should be open to the most competitive technology solutions.?Public-private partnerships need to have long term views on investment to spur interest and demand which will then allow the market to balance itself. ? Finally, Ivana Jemelkova asked me to share one word that comes to mind when asked to describe the future of hydrogen – I chose “optimism”. Hydrogen is happening and we’re making real progress! Innovation of this magnitude is not for the faint of heart. Progress will continue to happen at different paces in different places around the world. I’m already looking forward to #Gastech2025. ? #ChevronNewEnergies #EnergyForward #Hydrogen #EnergyEvolution?

I recently joined Taylor Kuykendall on the S&P Global Energy Evolution podcast to discuss how the industry is changing in response to the growing call for cleaner energy. We spoke a lot about our electrolytic hydrogen production and storage project, ACES Delta, in Utah, and how it plays a role in our strategy. At Chevron we see meaningful, long-term demand and growth in the hydrogen market – which is expected to be up to 12% of the global energy mix by 2050. ACES Delta, LLC is an example and proof point that hydrogen is happening, and we’re making real progress! Thanks to S&P Global for the opportunity to further the conversation, and to Michael Ducker for being a great partner. We know we need to get this right if we want a highly functioning society that operates with a lower carbon footprint, and I believe hydrogen will play an imperative role, now and into the future. #energytransition #ChevronNewEnergies #lowercarbon #energyevolution
