Vision Statement: ACEC Oregon is a community of engineering and surveying companies working collaboratively for the betterment of our profession and the world in which we work ACEC Oregon is a non-profit organization originally Founded in 1956 as the Consulting Engineers Council of Oregon (CECO). In 2002 it's name was changed to ACEC Oregon (American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon). However, it's goal remains the same: to protect the public welfare and advance the professional quality of private practice consulting engineers and surveyors. ACEC Oregon represents approximately 3,500 employees in Oregon through approximately 100 consulting engineering and surveying firms of all sizes. ACEC Oregon is a member organization of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) in Washington, D.C. With 5,700 member firms, ACEC is the largest national organization of engineers engaged in the practice of consulting engineering. Created to assist consulting engineering and surveying firms in achieving their business-related goals, ACEC Oregon promotes professionalism and quality, and is the only organization with staff lobbyists watching out for the business interests of consulting engineers and surveyors in Salem.

Oregon Senate Bill 1575 known as “Duty to Defend” was passed in the Oregon Legislature on March 7, 2024.?ACEC Oregon celebrated with a Reception on May 22nd with Senator Floyd Prozanski, along with Senator Ed Diehl’s Chief of Staff, Jaime Diehl.?ACEC’s lobbyist Marshall Coba, and AIA lobbyist Cindy Robert, Jon Larson, Marvin Chorzempa & Larson, and Tonya Finley, ACEC Past President were also honored during the celebration. #DavidEvansandAssociates

ACEC Oregon held its Annual Business meeting at David Evans and Associates on June 6th.?The program featured installation of the 2024-2025 Board of Directors and recognition of 18 Leadership Development Series graduates.?Various committee chairpersons reported accomplishments from the past year and plans for 2024-2025. Karen Tatman, #Consor was honored for her years as Legislative committee chair.?Tonya Finley #DavidEvansandAssociates now ACEC Oregon’s Immediate Past President, received a signed copy of SB1575 (Duty to Defend bill).?Many thanks for her efforts to get the bill through the legislature!?Finley spoke about the accomplishments the Board of Directors and ACEC Oregon completed in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

ACEC Oregon helped sponsor the Mid-Willamette Valley Future Engineers Day luncheon put on by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Oregon Section held in April. A record number of engineers attended the 17th annual event held at the Keizer Civic Center. Thank you to those who participated and visited with local high school students.
